April Ross

April Ross is one of just a handful of female beach volleyball stars to capture medals at multiple Olympics. Alix Klineman has become a brand new Olympian and will join the team in Tokyo. Ross's aim is to get her first Olympic gold medal. With her age of 39, this may be her final opportunity to claim the Olympic gold. However, she is certain of taking top honors. Ross through NBC Boston, said that If the team is performing well or at all they could win a gold. This is also a matter of chance. Ross was born on the 22nd of October, 1982. She was raised in Costa Mesa California where she resided with her parents and sister. While at Newport Harbor High School, she played in a variety of different sports. She was a basketball player and also ran the track as well as her indoor volleyball exploits as a pre-collegiate athlete. While she did well when playing indoors, it was clear that her performance was above average. The college bio says that she was an outside hitter, middle blocker, as well as a setter throughout her volleyball time during high school. Her efforts were recognized by her being named 1999 Gatorade's Circle of Champions National players of the year. Her skills in volleyball won her the Orange County Athlete of the Years trophy in 2000. Ross and Klineman might have begun working together in 2017, but Ross was an experienced athlete at the beach prior to when they came together. In fact, she's won numerous events, one of which was with an iconic volleyball player. Ross teamed up along with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and also was Klineman's coach. Kessy was Ross's partner on the World Championships of 2009. In the 2012 Olympic Games, they received the gold medal. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the legend team who took home the Olympic gold medal in 2012 in London, beat each other to take home the gold medal. Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor as she left the team. Together, they won bronze medals in beach volleyball for the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross was a college player with the Trojans of USC prior to starting her professional career. She played in high school, as well as years prior to hitting the beaches as a professional. Her time at USC was awe-inspiring. As a freshmen in 2000, her play earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman-of-the-Year honors. Her Trojans also reached the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a heartbreaking personal loss in her sophomore season and yet she went on to repeat in the ranks of an All-American. The two years following her, she took the Trojans up the mountain and won consecutive national titles. The individual accomplishments of her have established her as a volleyball legend. She won the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the best female college player. Ross took a course in International Relations at USC. Margie Ross did not get to witness Ross achieve beach volleyball's top stage. When Ross was in her sophomore year in USC her mother died of breast cancer. Her mother is still very dearly. And Margie is an ongoing source of encouragement for her on the beaches and throughout the world of.
